How do I care for my Kathe Mera Concept Jewelry?
Care Instructions
Jewelry needs special care – whether it is solid Gold, Silver or Vermeil.
• Avoid wearing jewelry while sleeping or working out.
• Avoid contact with cleaning materials, perfumes, and other beauty products. It is advised to put jewelry on last, following the application of cosmetics, perfume, hairspray and etc.
• To prevent scratching, always keep your jewelry items separated and in boxes or pouches, in a dry place.
• Clean your jewelry with a soft cotton cloth and warm water. Use a tiny drop of liquid soap if needed. Before storing, pad dry your jewelry with a soft cloth, and make sure your jewelry is dried to prevent tarnishing.
• Do not use a jewelry cloth as it usually contains chemicals that will scrub off the surface.
Tarnishing
Always wear your Kathe Mera Concept jewelry to prevent it from tarnishing. Tarnishing on sterling silver is natural discoloration of the surface which can often be removed with a silver polishing cloth or by professional cleaning. It is triggered when silver exposed to sulfur in the air, chlorine, cosmetics, household bleach, and other chemicals.
Gemstone Care
To maintain your gemstone jewelry in the best condition, avoid using ultrasonic cleaning, cleaning cream, or dip cleaner on jewelry as it may cause damage to the gemstone. In additional, do not store your gemstone jewelry in direct sunlight or near the heater. Keep away from solvent such as lacquer thinner and acetone.
For gentle cleaning you may clean the surface by using a soft brush and mild soap solution to remove any oil, dust, or dirt.
What is Gold Vermeil?
Basically We offer 3 materials: 14k Solid Gold, 24k Gold Vermeil and Sterling Silver. We are often asked if Gold Vermeil is the same as gold Plated jewelry, so here it is the difference:
When it comes to plated gold, most companies use a thin layer of gold over a cheap metal such as brass. This is known as gold plated jewelry.
Gold vermeil is a thick coating of gold (we use 24k) over solid sterling silver, so the entire piece is composed of precious metals only. We believe it's the most luxurious option available at a reasonable price.
What Are Karats?
You’ve probably noticed that gold is classified with what seems like a code – a number followed by a ‘K.’ The K stands for karat, which tells us the percentage of pure gold that a piece of jewelry contains. The number denotes how many parts out of 24 are pure gold.
24K gold is pure gold, meaning it has not been mixed with anything else.

What is 14K Gold?
14K gold is a gold alloy, or a substance that combines gold with other elements. Since gold is a soft metal, it must be mixed to make it more durable. 14K gold includes around 58% pure gold and a mixture of zinc, nickel, and copper.
The addition of metals makes 14K gold stronger and more durable. In other words, it will last for years and
generations.
What is 18K Gold?
18k gold is 75% gold and 25% alloy. The number 18 refers to parts of 24, or karats. 18k gold is the alloy with the highest amount of gold content sold in most rings, and its color is closer to that of pure gold.

How long do made to order pieces take to ship?
Each made to order piece is crafted here in our studio.
Each item has a different lead time based on the complexity of the piece, and this is detailed on the product page.
The general rule for made-to-order pieces is 2 weeks.
Which carrier do you use?
Our fulfillment partner uses software which calculates the best carrier depending on destination and timing.
Most packages domestically ship with either USPS or UPS, while international packages predominantly ship via DHL.

How long does order processing take?
We usually ship either same-day or within 2 business day but please allow up to 3 business days for processing during sale periods.
Made-to-order pieces all have different processing times due to their complexity - please refer to the individual product page for accurate time frames.
What happens if my package is lost?
This is incredibly rare, but if it happens.
After $100 item's value and especially solid Gold pieces are always shipped with signature required to ensure this doesn't happen.
And as an extra, we buy the insurance of the amount you paid on the transaction.
In case your package is lost, you could claim the insurance of your package with the carrier company.

Talking about Diamonds
The Kimberley Process is a joint government, international diamond industry and civil society initiative to stem the flow of conflict diamonds.
Kathe Mera Concept complies with Kimberly Process Certification Scheme. We warrant that our diamonds have been purchased from legitimate sources not involved in the funding of conflict, in conformance with United Nations resolutions. We guarantee this based on internal audits and/or guarantees provided by our diamond suppliers.
Does Kathe Mera Concept offer repairs?
Yes, We do. Our team is available to restore and preserve the jewelry beauty.
Repair work typically takes between 2 and 3 weeks from the date your items are received, depends on the year's season. If your piece was purchased in the last 3 months, it may still be covered under warranty and your piece will be repaired at no cost to you. If it is not covered under warranty, we will evaluate and provide a quote for the repair.

Does Kathe Mera Concept offer Gold Vermeil Service?
Yes, We do, we can remake the gold vermeil of any piece of our collections.
Typically takes between 2 and 3 weeks from the date your item is received, depends on the year's season. If your piece was purchased in the last 3 months, it may still be covered under warranty and your piece will be repaired at no cost to you or we will send you a new one, if it is the case. If it is not covered under warranty, we will evaluate and provide a quote for the Gold
Vermeil Service.
